UF/IFAS-TREC 90th Anniversary Celebration Open House Event

This event provides the opportunity to engage close up with our world class research scientists, students, and staff. Come learn about some of the wonderful and cutting edge research we are conducting at TREC, the impacts it is having on our community, and the potential implications our research holds for ensuring the sustainability of our agricultural and natural resources.

Self-arrange your visit: Our open house is designed to allow you to visit laboratories and faculty of your interest, ask questions and learn more about the research conducted and how it benefits our community. Additionally, we are offering different scheduled tours, several times in the afternoon.

- Plant Physiology Tour with Dr. Bassil 2:00pm and 3:00pm
See how plants grow and respond to changes in their environment in real time using a high-tech, state of the art equipment. 30 mins tour
- Plant Clinic Tour with Dr. Gazis 1:30pm 2:00pm and 2:30pm
Get a demonstration of sample submission, diagnosis process, common plant diseases found in our area and tests available at the Plant Clinic. 20 mins tour
- Vanilla Tour with Drs. Schaffer and Chambers 1:00pm 2:00pm and 3:00pm
Learn about the physiology, development and plant breeding research conducted to support vanilla cultivation in southern Florida. 40 mins tour
