Dr. Kevin Wandler

About the Speaker:

As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Wandler designs and implements proven models of evidence-based therapeutic programming and ensure that each facility is providing exceptional patient care.

A national leader in the treatment of substance abuse and eating disorders, a frequent keynote speaker and a highly rated educator, Dr. Wandler brings over 30 years of experience to his new role at ARS. He is board-certified in General Psychiatry with added qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and is certified by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. In addition to serving as IAEDP’s President, he is a Fellow and Certified Eating Disordered Specialist. His professional affiliations also include the Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), American Psychiatric Association (APA), and American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).

Dr. Wandler’s dedication to the treatment of eating disorders began in 1995 when he became Medical Director at Remuda Ranch, an eating disorder treatment facility in Wickenburg, AZ. Under his leadership, he helped grow the program from 20 beds to over 150 beds in its prime. In 2012, Dr. Wandler relocated to Florida and created the Eating Disorder Recovery Center at UF Health prior to serving as the founding Medical Director for The Recovery Village.

During the presentation, you will: 

– Learn about the Addiction Model Overview
– Understand the main Classes of Drugs to Discuss (Opioids, Tobacco, Stimulants/ Cocaine and Cannabis/ K2 Spice)
– Learn about the treatment options: Medication Assisted Therapy and residential/ OP Programming

Brunch will be provided.

**Please note: Attendees will need to contact their governing body in order to have credits applied. Priority seating is reserved for individuals receiving Continuing Education Credit.**

Advanced Recovery Systems has been approved by the National Board of Certified Counselors as an Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEP No. 6874). Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. Advanced Recovery Systems is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
